Event Description

In this digital era due to the extraordinary features of Microsoft Excel, value of Excel professionals the employers have the urge to master the proper knacks in the biggest reliance and perk of MS Excel spreadsheets. Having this in mind “East West University Investment and Finance Club” successfully launched the Inter University Training and Competition program “FINXCEL” – An Excel Based Training and Competition” with a tagline “For your better career in 2022 and Beyond”. This year the club came up with the unique attempt to amplify competitive rounds along with the training sessions.

Organizing an Intra University Excel Based Training and Competition program was a courageous step which became easier with the support of the esteemed partners. They are Strategic Partner – “BYLC”, English Media Partner – “THE BUSINESS STANDARD” and Broadcasting Media Partner “Somoy TV”.

Around 80-90 participants registered for this training session and competition program with a minuscule registration fee. Participants participated individually. The registration started on 23^rd December, 2021 and closed on 28^th December, 2021. FINXCEL program was mapped with 2 workshops and 2 competitive rounds. The training programs were taken by extremely talented and radically qualified trainers of Excel Program. 1^st workshop was about Basic and Intermediate Excel functions and 2^nd workshop was about Advanced Excel functions and its usage. After completing the training sessions, competitors participated in the combat rounds enthusiastically.

The entire event was enlightened by a prominent number of distinguished guests and trainers. On 28^th December, 2021 Workshop 1 was conducted by the Young Excel Enthusiast & Professional- Mr. Nizam Iqbal Udoy, Executive of Strategic planning, Accounts and Finance at ASL systems Limited. The center of concern for the trainer was to present the Basic and Intermediate level Excel functions creatively before the trainees. On 30^th December, 2021 Workshop 2 was conducted by skilled Excel administrator- Mr. Rifat Uddin Parvez, Officer at Singer Bangladesh Limited. He introduced Advanced Excel and it’s usage before the trainess in an engaging and attractive way. For making the training sessions more intuitive, Q/A session was also there to quench the thirst of the enrolled participants. The First Competition round was driven in 2^nd January, 2022. From the 1^st round, Top 20 participants were selected for the 2^nd competitive round. The second round was held on 5^th January, 2022. The judge for the Competitive round was Mr. Rashed Alam, Senior Manager of Finance and Accounts at Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC).

The ending ceremony was conducted on 7^th January, 2022. The special guest for the closing ceremony was Mr. Shahrear Ahmed, Deputy General Manager, AML & CFT, External & Corporate Affairs Division at bkash Limited. The Moderators of East West University Investment and Finance Club, Mr. Leo Vashkor Dewri and Mrs. Fatema Tuz Zohra also attended the program and delivered their invaluable and fascinating speech dedicating the participants.

Among the Top 20 Finalists, 3 winners won the victory title of “FINXCEL”. The Champion of the competition was Mr. Tasbiqur Rahman Sakib , 1^st Runner up was Ms. Tazin Sumaiya and the 2^nd Runner up was Mr. Aminul Islam.

Winners will receive divine prizes on the occasion of their spectacular victory. Champion will receive Prize Bond worth BDT. 2000, 1^st Runner Up will receive Prize Bond worth BDT. 1500 & the 2^nd Runner Up will receive Prize Bond worth BDT. 1000.  Other than that Top 3 winners will get the lucrative opportunity of Direct entry to Career X program of BYLC. They will also receive exciting gift hampers and goodies as a token of reward. Certificates will also include for the participants for enrolling into the program.

“FINXCEL – An EXCEL Based Training and Competition” was undoubtedly a very delectable, rapturous and ecstatic event from the beginning to end. East West University Investment and Finance club continuously arranging many skill development programs and training sessions for enthusiastic and passionate individuals for bringing out the best of them. This club has promised to continue its succession to serve the students with its purpose of arranging more remarkable competitions and learning opportunities in the future as well.
